- Reposted by Emily BrucePlease stop saying the bill allows "no more multi-year funding" - or at least be clear the 'more' is in reference to disastrous FY25 levels. The bill allows 39% MYF, same as in FY25, which contributed substantially to a 24% drop in new research. The bill has some wins. MYF is not one of them.

- With the loss of published paylines it will be harder to quantify changes in grant funding rates for 2026, but this analysis makes clear that paylines will go down substantially across the NIH.

- Unfortunately the drop in ESI funding rates is not paired with changes in funding required to get tenure. It’s not just the next three years of our labs at risk, but the rest of our careers. We are also the cohort that started in the COVID pandemic- it’s been nothing but “unprecedented times”…

- Tarrifs are taxes. I know this because I just had to pay UPS $43.24 on a package from France that originally cost $169. That's an extra 25% (and it would have been an extra $12 if I didn't pay the tax in the 90 minutes between getting the bill by email and the package being delivered).
