More horrible science news "The NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) learned yesterday that the Department of Defense (DoD) will stop processing & delivering the Special Sensor Microwave Imager/Sounder (SSMIS) data no later than 30 June 2025."

The Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP) has released their Summary Arctic Climate Change Update. Read it: www.amap.no/documents/do... Nobody can later say they weren't warned, again and again.

- Very nice new tool from @copernicusecmwf.bsky.social. Certainly quite some room for further additions/improvements, but still great to easily share some basic ERA5 stats in no time.

- Astonishing sea ice dynamics north of Greenland at the moment. One of the few occasions (2003, 2011, 2013 and 2018 in the last 25 yrs) of large polynyas opening up in that region during winter. One to watch!
