- This Valentine's Day, consider giving books to people you hate! Maryneal 1962 is a slice of life horror that you can force upon the despised in your life. 💕🏹 a.co/d/09KYimmI #horror #books
- Digging through a box I had full of loose stuff and found an early draft of my synopsis for Maryneal 1962. She's fine so far. 🥰
- I haven't been able to participate in the last little bit but I love that these spaces exist for us! 🥰
- Write horror? Join #HorrorWritersChat a weekly meet-up on BSky to chat about horror and answer four questions/prompts. Participants can promote their work or other opportunities in the outro. Next meet up: Wednesday 4 February at 2 pm ET (USA) 7 pm GMT (UK) See you there! #amwriting #horror

- I tend to have/ enjoy writing characters that are passive &introspective. They absorb & process the events around them, either for their own sanity or other reasons. Now, however, I'd like to focus on more reactive & explosive characters that demand the direction of their plots. #pretendpanel
- Hello #pretendpanel, here's your next question... January 30th: What's the next evolution you would like to see for yourself as a writer? (in terms of skill, output, input, etc - maybe focus on things you can control and not pipedreams) #WritingCommunity #Writers #Authors #WritingPrompts
- Reposted by Abigail F TaylorThe arrests of Don Lemon, Georgia Fort, and Jamael Lundy are unacceptable and a clear violation of the Constitution. This is a dangerous abuse of power that threatens the rights of every single American. They must be released immediately.
- I didn't type up much today but I couldn't let January slip by without submitting some work. Here's hoping the editors like my Deer Lady/Indian Relocation Act revenge story. 🤞🏼
- Typing up chapter 20 of my newest book. A modern Southern Gothic full of swamp monsters and revenge.
- "Just like Shirley Jackson, Taylor skillfully taps into the unique fears that can arise in domestic spaces and close-knit communities. Similar to Ken Kesey, she dives into the darker sides of individuals who are pushed to their limits by societal expectations." -Ginger Nuts of Horror a.co/d/bOwwdCO
- I've been feeling very "why bother" about my writing. I still love it and I'm still writing because I want to but I just don't see the point of racing to a self imposed finish line. It makes me sad.
- Reposted by Abigail F TaylorReminder that, as of the latest reports, Liam Ramos is still in prison in Texas - now for 5 days. His parents are legal asylum seekers with no criminal record.

- People always bitch about romance. "Ugh go pick up a book in the literature section!" is the most recent complaint on socials. Okay bet 😈 (it's melodramatic romance... but noooo! It's LIT-rah-chure!)
- Lol. I was shadow banned on the clock app for quoting Malcolm X.
- How are you spending your snow day?
- Concerning nonviolence, it is criminal to teach a man not to defend himself when he is the constant victim of brutal attacks. — Malcolm X
- Reposted by Abigail F TaylorThis account stuck my comic through an ugly AI filter, removed my @ from the bottom and blocked me when I called them out.
- I'm a jousting rabbit and my steed is a snail with a bearded man face! I just KNOW some monk was out here making fun of how slow a fellow monk was.😅
- Back on my bullshit.
- I'm not old or anything but I just realized that I've been alive for two centuries... Not the entire two centuries but...
- Reposted by Abigail F TaylorWe didn't publish regularly last year, which understandably led to a drop in subscriptions. We're returning to a full schedule for 2026, including a special themed issue edited by the wonderful Rebecca Summerling. But we have lost some income, so if you like our stuff do consider subscribing.
- What is everybody reading this weekend? I've just started The Hunter by Tana French.
- I don't want much. I just dream of having my time no longer governed by other people's schedules.

- Truth, she thought. As terrible as death. But harder to find. --Philip K. Dick, The Man in the High Castle
- I currently have an 8 second clip popping off on TT. I'm getting close to 2K views which is awesome but how can I harness that towards my actual book. 😅

- Slice of Life Horror. I invented it. I coined it.💅🏼 (I'm delusional enough to believe it)
- The phrase "I double dare you" is printed in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Until this moment I didn't realize that this was such an old statement.
- Ice detained 4 native men. They've murdered the media's sacred white woman. They've gone into HIGH SCHOOLS with smoke bombs & pepper spray, attacking children. They don't care if you have the right paperwork. We MUST be sanctuaries for our neighbors. We MUST act! www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/ne...
- Reposted by Abigail F TaylorThis is infuriating. The FBI is covering up for the ICE murder. This is obstruction of justice.
- If you have TT ⏰ , I've been over there for awhile talking about books & writing. Sometimes I share dad jokes. Today, I shared 4 horror books I've read & 1 I haven't... Come say hi! #amreading www.tiktok.com/t/ZThLuuakP/
- I signed up for a cryptology class. Oh it will be fun! It's decoding and spy stuff and interesting problem solving! .... When I tell you it's day two and I am going to die!!😭 No wonder the professor said he doesn't get a lot of lit majors.
- Knocked out 1,600 words on my morning break! I'm so glad the holiday rush at my day job is over and I can focus on what I love again. #amwriting

- I'm less frightened of being judged for my subject material & also I don't let my lack of talent in an area prevent me from exploring it. Like if I've never written a genre before or a poetic style. I'll do it anyway, instead of waiting for when I've "improved". #pretendpanel
- 18 years ago with a poem published in Illya's Honey. I'd taken it to a workshop and the editor of the magazine happened to be there. She told me to send it in. It has been the complete opposite of smooth sailing since!😅 But it truly was that moment I realized I was on the right path. #pretendpanwl
