- And there we are, the very last speaker of the #YRSPP2024 😢 The honor is for Beatrice Pacenza from the CRAG in Spain! She will be speaking about a gun screen in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii to unravel chloroplast-to-nucleus retrograde signaling #YRSPP2024
- Our second to last speaker is Alessio Baldini from the Università degli studi di Milano in Italy! He will tell us about how he is trying to unveil the role of an epigenetic component in the light perception of Arabidopsis thaliana! #YRSPP2024
- Another non-Arabidopsis talk by Eline Eggermont, also from the WUR in the Netherlands! She will tell us all about chloroplast development and retrograde signaling in Physcomitrium patens #YRSPP2024
- The last session, really??? Time truly flies! And what better scientist to talk about time than our very own Andrés Romanowski from the WUR, Netherlands. Let him take us on a rhythmic journey across continents! ⏳🕰️ #YRSPP2024
- Our last morning talk is by Johannes Rötzer from GMI Vienna in Austria! He will talk about the role of blue light receptors in the establishment of de novo polarity in Marchantia polymorpha spores 🩵 #YRSPP2024
- Next up is Daisy Bown from the University of Southampton in the UK! She will tell us all about the role of TaPIF3 in regulating growth and development of hexaploid wheat 🌾 #YRSPP2024
- Is everyone properly caffeinated again? 🤩 Let’s hear it for Aina Basté from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Spain! She will explain the convergence of photoreceptor and retrograde signalling in pigment accumulation for plant photoprotection #YRSPP2024
- Before getting to our next ☕️ break with those great 🍪s, we’re going to listen to Katarina Petra van Midden from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia! She will enlighten us on the modulations of transpeptidase CrCEP1 to the photosystem’s oxygen-evolving complex #YRSPP2024
- Next up, Dorothee Derwort of the University of Freiburg, Germany! Her interesting topic is the function of ERF transcription factors in phytochrome signalling #YRSPP2024
- The last day already?! To start the day strong we are listening to our next young PI, Johanna Krahmer from University of Copenhagen, Denmark! She is telling us all about how internal sugar allocation in response to a shade signal is regulated by auxin and sucrose #YRSPP2024
- Social activities time! Whether you’re gonna explore the city by canoe 🛶, walking tour 👣 or just taking some time to rest 😴, we’re sure you’ll enjoy yourself in the lovely city of Utrecht! #YRSPP2024
- Time flies when you’re having fun! It’s the last talk of today by Catarina Monteiro of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal/University of Freiburg, Germany! Her topic is how phytochromes and PIFs are key players in rice development mediated by light and temperature #YRSPP2024
- We will now listen to Laura Schmid from the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg in Germany! She will tell us about COR27 and COR28 acting as potential integrators of light and temperature, and associate with chromatin remodeling complexes ☀️🌡️ #YRSPP2024
- The next speaker is Yuanke Liang from the University of Geneva in Switzerland! He will go away from Arabidopsis and crops for a bit to tell us about UV-B perception and signaling in the liverwort Marchantia polymorpha! #YRSPP2024
- After a great lunch and poster session it’s time for talks again! Our next speaker is our young PI Martin Balcerowicz from the University of Dundee, UK. He will tell us a lovely story of COP1/SPA, PIFs and auxin #YRSPP2024
- The final talk in our morning session, it’s Siddhant Shetty from the WUR in the Netherlands! He will enlighten us about whether the responses to Far-Red light enrichment in lettuce are a signal, or resource for growth? 🥬 #YRSPP2024
- Next up is a very special online talk all the way from India by Ajar Anupam Pradham! 🖥️🇮🇳 He works at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, and will tell us about a light signalling-regulated MATE transporter modulating root under low phosphate #YRSPP2024
- Everyone had their morning ☕️? Time for Dimitra Paliogianni from the University of Glasgow, UK! She will explain about how DOT3 is another cog in the phototropin signaling machine #YRSPP2024
- What an interesting talk by Feng Chen from the University of Freiburg, Germany! He told us all about how he investigates the molecular mechanisms regulating thermal reversion of phytochrome B #YRSPP2024
- Next is Laura van der Jeucht from KU Leuven, Belgium! She will explain how she’s unraveling how Far-Red leads to increased sugar levels in tomato 🍅 #YRSPP2024
- Welcome to day 2 of the #YRSPP2024! We start the day with our first young PI, Kasper van Gelderen from Heidelberg University in Germany. He will tell us all about using PhyB photobody live imaging to find out how they are formed!
- The first poster session is happening! Due to confidentiality no pictures, but believe me, there are some beautiful posters here! Don’t forget to vote for your favorite one (but don’t worry, there’s more time tomorrow and Friday so take your time to check them all out #YRSPP2024
- The last but definitely not least talk before our first poster session: Niels van de Haar from FU Berlin/University Köln, Germany! He is working on how SPA proteins regulate HY5-BBX controlled photomorphogenesis #YRSPP2024
- The following speaker is Anne-Marie Staudt from the University of Freiburg! Her talk is about how EID1 represses phyA to promote the canopy shade response #YRSPP2024
- Next up: Uriel Urquiza-García from University of Düsseldorf, Germany! He will tell us how to engineer synthetic phototransduction pathways for plants #YRSPP2024
- After an energizing coffee-break we are continuing with our second keynote, Karen Halliday from the University of Edinburgh, UK. She will tell us all about her interesting non-linear career, guided by phytochrome and cross-disciplinary research! #YRSPP2024
- Last talk in the first session: our very own YRSPP-organizer Sanne Matton from the WUR here in the Netherlands! She will be telling us about signals and mechanisms of plant leaves navigation in the canopy #YRSPP2024
- Next up, Maria Florencia Bogino all the way from the National University of Córdoba, Argentina! She will enlighten us about hormones influencing SAS in the outcome of plant-pathogen interactions #YRSPP2024
- And onto our first early career scientist and previous YRSPP host, Philipp Schwenk from University of Freiburg! He’s telling us about his work on P-bodies #YRSPP2024
