When one student was asked if he was afraid of being marked absent or suspended his response was ‘if that’s what it takes to protect people and use my first amendment rights, I’m ok with that’. Be like these kids!

- Reposted by Dr Ieithydd (Carys)Sir Guenter Treitel came to the UK on the Kindertransport. He became the foremost authority on English contract law. Famously, he held the Rolling Stones to their contract to play the Magdalen Ball in 1964 for £100 - they had suddenly become superstars after being booked as unknowns in 1963.
- Magdalen launches Sir Guenter Treitel Scholarships. Each year, three Sir Guenter Treitel Scholars will be provided with full funding (fees and maintenance) to study the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) at Magdalen College. Read more: www.magd.ox.ac.uk/news/magdale...

- Ages ago, David Eddings had his publisher send us World Fantasy Award judges a cringy 16 page color pamphlet he'd clearly put together himself & then clumsily edited into third person about why he should win the lifetime achievement award, but also why his wife, who helped write the books should not

Her parents were taking her for emergency medical care when ICE grabbed them, and she’s rotting in the camp sick and exposed to measles. Get them out!

Blackmail countries which have significant human rights concerns to take back people who often should not be being sent back and then celebrate it by threatening more countries with similar blackmail.
