- Spontaneous synchronization in the lab today, induced by our #zebrafish?
- #zebrafish advice: We are looking for a protocol for antigen retrieval for zebrafish embryos/tissue whole mounts. Any pointers would be appreciated 🙏🏼
- 🥁We are recruiting PhD students/Postdocs with strong proven background in developmental/molecular/cell biology & related areas, for various projects- check out our lab website👇🏼 We offer: competitive stipends, super equipped lab, fun international team! yanivelkoubylab.com
- Thank you for featuring this beautiful image of a #zebrafish developing ovary from Amal’s recent work! 🐟🔬✨
- I had great fun presenting and having really interesting discussions in this really nice forum. Thanks for the invitation!

- Now out from our lab in @currentbiology.bsky.social! An mTOR-Stat3-Stathmin pathway controls #centrosome and #microtubule dynamics for #oocyte polarization www.cell.com/current-biol...
- Reposted by Yaniv ElkoubySAVE THE DATE! Stoked to organize the 2026 Santa Cruz Developmental Biology Meeting with @rashmi-priya.bsky.social, @lowelab.bsky.social, and Shelbi Russell. Come learn about Biomedicine, Biomechanics, and the Biosphere, August 24-28, 2026. Registration dates, etc., coming soon! Please RT
- Was a pleasure to participate in ScoRe - Scientific Conference On REproduction - celebrating 150/y since the observation of sperm and egg pronuclear fusion in @flatironinstitute.org. A stellar gathering discussing all things germ cells! Thanks @haysconun.bsky.social, Stas Shvartsman for the invite!
- 🔥A second preprint from our lab this week! Especially proud of this one that helps unlock a black box in #reproduction. We propose a #morphogenetic framework for #oocyte production from germline stem cells in #zebrafish and from progenitors in humans. > www.researchsquare.com/article/rs-7...
- 🔊New preprint from our lab! Zygotene cilia regulates meiosis, germ cell development, and fertility in zebrafish, mice, and humans www.researchsquare.com/article/rs-7...
- In brief, our findings uncover a strikingly conserved #ciliary mechanism in the regulation of chromosomal dynamics in #meiosis, and implicate dysfunction of the zygotene cilium as an overlooked etiology of human #infertility, also expanding the spectrum of #ciliopathies. >
- Super proud of Neta Hart for being awarded the travel grant by The Science Bank and for delivering an excellent talk at the Notch Signaling Meeting about her pioneering work on newly identified mode of early #oogenesis in #zebrafish and human, regulated by Notch (more to come!).
- For the new Jewish year, we wish for a better and peaceful year all around, filled with joy, prosperity, and lots of scientific discoveries 🙏🏼

- I can now share that during the recent Israel-Iran conflict, our main #zebrafish husbandry facility collapsed abruptly, resulting in the loss of ~85% of our fish. With careful management, we were able to preserve all lines, and are currently operating from backup systems. >>
- Two Elkouby lab students received the Hebrew University @hebrewuniversity.bsky.social Faculty of Medicine Prizes for Outstanding MSc Thesis today. Congratulations Amal Shawahny and Adam Ahmad for this well deserved recognition, we are super proud of you! 🎉🐟
- Grateful to the Israel Science Foundation for additional five years of funding! Thank you to all reviewers and panel members out there for believing in our science. Excited for what’s coming next 🤞🏻
- Was a pleasure to give the @embo.org talk in #EMBO #meiosis meeting today, and share our findings about the Zygotene #cilium: novel mechanisms, conserved functions and links to human #reproduction disfunction. Thanks to the organizers for the invite and for a fantastic meeting.
