Timberwolves
- Everyone knows my bias on the Giannis trade front, so put these in context. First, I worry that Wolves will want Ant to sign off on deal. What happens if he does and trade falls through? Second, don't let any of this detract from my respect for Giannis who is indeed a difference-maker.
- Look @ Bucks in 23-24 with Dame & Giannis. Both played 73 games & Dame had a season better analytically than Ant has ever had & they still only won 49 games, 3rd in East. Giannis is now older with more tread on the tires. Without being able to mortgage draft picks, it just doesn't make sense.

- Just redistributing Mike's minutes to flawed guys like Bones and Clark is statistically better for the team than Conley playing them. It's not much, but that's what the numbers say.
- Who says no to this 3 team trade between Bucks, Wolves, and Lakers? MIN gets: Giannis (and 2 bros), Gabe Vincent LAL gets: Gobert, Cole Anthony MIL gets: Austin Reaves, Julius Randle, Deandre Ayton, Dalton Knecht, MIN 1sts in 26, 30, 32 and swaps in 28 and 29.

View full threadPick swaps were invented to circumvent the Stepien rule. A team has to retain a pick every other year, but it can be allowed to do so as part of a pick swap. The trade passes.
- Wolves presently can offer a worthless swap in 26. A swap in 28. A limited swap in 2030 and a 32 swap. Only pick they can trade is 2029, but only if its 1-5 (otherwise goes to Utah or whoever they traded it to)
- Sorry, but no. Wolves already traded their 2031 pick for Rob Dillingham so can't trade 2030 and 2032 because of the Stepien rule. Wolves can't trade 2026 now either because 2027 already goes to Utah from Gobert deal as does 2029 (top5 protected) 2026 and 2030 are already swapped.
- Giannis is amazing. Seems like the injury history should be given more consideration though. Recurrent lower body injuries don't bode well at age 31. Also, does he actually complement Ant on the court? Would they make each other better? Didn't seem like Giannis really meshed with Dame.
- Google "Stepien rule" and you'll understand why your trade doesn't work. Wolves can't trade those picks.
