- This semester has been one of the best teaching semesters of my life and it's almost entirely because of going 90%+ to pen and paper. My students are fully doing it, without complaint, and it's beautiful. They're actually reading. They're writing weird shit. They're being brave. They like this.
- I don't know who needs to hear this, but how much you publish or whether you've finished that book or achieved ___ only matters in your own head. Anyone else who has thoughts about your productivity can fuck off. This guilt or shame is yours and you can let it go. This is art, not a finish line.
