Wrexham's Member of Parliament has released a new report focusing on the barriers to social mobility. “Where We Are: A Report on the Social Mobility Landscape,” follows six months of research and consultation with charities, organisations, and individuals with lived experience. The report identifies three key barriers to social mobility across the UK: Access and Awareness - Fragmented and complex support means young people are missing out because they don't know where to look Reaching the Quiet Middle - Described in the report as "quiet, overlooked and often underestimated", there's a group of young people who are not being reached by the current system.
