  • Persistent reports of ICE using drones, including this highly suspected ICE drone photographed being launched from a suburban park. It’s a HoverFly Spectre, a “tethered” surveillance drone flown over unspooling fiber-optic cables. I’d be curious if anyone knows a civilian use case

  • Guys they are really, really not winning It sucks what they’re doing to our country, and my city especially God only knows how much damage they’ll do before they’re stopped, much of it irreversible But they are very much not winning

Now what? They can’t regather their momentum. They’re much weaker than before and even their strongest wasn’t strong enough. Their leaders are detested, their cult of personality is built around a rotting human mound, they cannot regain the initial shock. The ship is sinking; who will board it now?

  • It’s one thing to get pushed back. It’s another to attempt a charge right into the heart of the enemy. If it peters out halfway, you’re not just losing, you’re going to be annihilated. Trump is fast arriving at that moment

  • Replying to Will Stancil
Given that they are not winning, and in fact probably cannot win, the goal needs to be stopping them, as quickly and permanently as possible, so that we have to rebuild less in the aftermath

  • Their plan was to take the momentum of their initial shock victory, measly as it was, and push through all the lines of resistance, counting on each one to fold out of pragmatism, so their strength was never tested. But Minneapolis didn’t fold, their strength was tested, and they broke instead.

  • Always remember THEY DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH GUYS. In the realm of Online, they can just say things and have them treated as true. In the realm of Real Life, there are 115,000 polling places in America and DHS has like 15,000 dudes total.

  • There’s a reason these guys mostly only win when things are decided by online vibes. They can simply conjure up the most terrifying fantasies and gleeful abuses and have millions of people treat them as if they happened. But move offline and they get wrecked by cold hard physical reality

  • In my opinion these people are the real heroes of the resistance to ICE. There’s no credit, no one can talk about their work (because they directly contact vulnerable families). It’s expensive and dreary and neverending. ICE follows them around. But they refuse to abandon their neighbors

  • One anecdote: so much cash has been withdrawn from Minneapolis banks to help families in hiding meet February rent that there is no hard cash left in the system. The city banks are out of dollars
