IIRC that move cost the ASA a ton of money, and the meetings had to go back to the original city (Chicago?) to fulfill contracts.
Also, remember the Zukin kerfuffle, which led to arguably the most tolerant city in the US telling sociologists not to let the door hit them on the way out? 😀
