- Goodbye to the history department at Lancaster University, where the @socialhistsoc.bsky.social was founded 49 years ago. From tomorrow we are part of a School of Global Affairs. Next year, who knows what will be - please sign our petition against mass redundancies chng.it/PZfTFDjNcr

- Hello UK friends - please, please could you sign this petition against the job cuts at my place of work - 1 in 4 us will be out of a job by August next year if we don't stop the cuts. And once you've signed it, please share. We need your help! www.change.org/p/stop-mass-...
- Reposted by Jenni Hyde“The University has paid a private consulting company KPMG to produce a report to justify redundancies, which they are refusing to share with the trade unions.” Would love to know how much money uni leaders across UK have spent on consultants rather than talking to staff about workloads & savings.

- New page on my website for my freelance work - let me know if you have any work that needs doing - archive trips, palaeography, editing, public speaking and performances a speciality! earlymodernballads.wordpress.com/jenni-hyde-aca…
- Hi everyone - I am looking for work to supplement the two days I will have at Lancaster University from August and would appreciate your support. I’m close to Lancashire Archives if anyone needs any work doing there, or I can travel to other archives.
- I can do palaeography from 16th century secretary hand onwards, and any general research work you might need doing. I am a highly skilled editor and proofreader and I could turn my hand to an index if you like.
- I have a wide range of public talks for history societies, lifelong learning groups, schools and community groups. I also sing the ballads I study. Also, if anyone is in need of a soprano soloist, I’m a trained singer. Thank you in advance for any connections, advice, or opportunities you can offer.
- So come August, with one of my Lancaster posts being made redundant, I’ll be looking for work. If you’ve got any research you need doing (palaeography included), I’m available. Let me know. Also on the off chance that anyone needs a soprano soloist, that’s me too.

- Day 1 of teaching is done. Only 39 more to go until Christmas.
- So tomorrow I am taking Thing 2 to Edinburgh to look at the university. In the past on the train I watched films… but now I have no iPad… ☹️
- So, in a minor miracle, my new Tudor module is finished last thing on the Friday afternoon before I start teaching on Monday.
- Anyone here know where I can find a really good reading on stranger churches in Tudor England and where my students might be able to find sources they could use?
- Or indeed, where I could find some
- Okay, so I’m still finding 🔵☁️ and 🧵quite difficult…
- Is there anyone out there who can point me in the direction of Job Throckmorton’s parliamentary speech against Mary queen of Scots? Is there any more than is in Neale’s Elizabethan parliaments?
- #earlymodern #skystorians if you had to set two readings and a source on Tudor parliaments (preferably from the people’s perspective or forming some form of debate), what would you choose?
- Hi #earlymodern #skystorians does anyone have access to a copy of Sharpe Selling the Tudor monarchy and can tell me the chapter number(s) on Henry 8 and page ranges to please 🙏
