I want to enthusiastically endorse this piece from @cselmendorf.bsky.social & @profschleich.bsky.social. Thus far YIMBY has been almost entirely focused on More Housing, but ultimately, if you want people to accept density, you have to make it *nice*, and that means more than just housing.
As an urbanite, I am totally on board for an urban quality of life agenda.
As someone who works at a state level YIMBY policy advocacy org with finite capacity, I worry that broadening our work risks diluting our influence and splitting our movement.
I get this, completely. However, the inverse worry is that the movement becomes known for forcing cities to jam a bunch of shitty apartments alongside stroads. I want people to like density!
