I always get really triggered when I see coming out scenes with supportive parents depicted in movies and series. I never got that experience with my parents. They never apologized for what they told me that night and I don’t think they ever will.
The conversation between Shane and his mother had me sobbing. I wish I had gotten that.
The whole episode was so beautiful. I felt like I was watching a real relationship with so much love and intimacy. I love queer love and queer stories and I hope to find something like that for me soon.
