- Greetings from Kyiv. I know some of you care, so I came here to say hi. Nothing new: low heating, power outages. At least cold water is stable (hot water appears only when we have electricity). -8 °C and snow outside. Tropical vibes 😂
- I went to the Dnipro River today. Still frozen. I just want to remind you that russians chose the coldest night to launch the most severe attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
- Kyiv. We’ve just got power back! After a heavy night attack, they managed to give us some electricity. Even if it won’t last long, it feels like magic. Glory to Ukrainian engineers 💪
- Drones are attacking Kyiv. Explosions echo in the severe frost. And I wonder how much heat, electricity, or water will be left by morning. The morning will come, with or without us.
- It’s very loud in Kyiv. russia is attacking us with ballistic missiles. Let the world know.
- "About 500 seniors live at Sinai Residences in Boca Raton, Florida, including many Holocaust survivors. Recently, some of them asked if they could hide the building’s Haitian staff in their apartments..." www.jta.org/2026/01/30/u...
- Kyiv. Midnight. No power. -20 °C outside. We’ve been warned of a possible missile and drone attack. What more can I say?

- Greetings from Kyiv. It’s cold outside. It’s cold inside. But we plan to make it through this winter. Wishing you a gentle week wherever you are.

- I took an offline day. Realised I was simply tired, humanly tired. And then I read the news about russian strikes on a maternity hospital and a bus with miners. Pure evil.
- Black History Month is a time to recognize the lived, shared experience of all Black folks who have fundamentally shaped, challenged, and ultimately strengthened America. It’s about taking an unvarnished look at the past so that we can create a better future.
- Greetings from Kyiv, where it’s -15 °C (-24…-26 expected tonight). According to the mayor, about 1,000 high-rise buildings are still without heating. Ours isn’t among them, the heat is low but at least it’s there. This is our reality. Ukrainians freezing in their homes.

- If you’re my supporter and didn’t get it earlier by email. it’s a short video of me talking in the final hours of endless January: a mix of gratitude and honesty. ⬇️ I’ll add the link below.

- Kyiv. Update on the situation. Heating is back (very minimal, just enough to keep the radiators from freezing). Power lasted about three hours, but that’s okay; rolling outages are our reality here. Having a warcoffee.
- Kyiv. Five and a half hours after the total blackout (officially: a major system outage) began. Water is back, electricity is back, still no heating in my district. Ukraine 💪
- Kyiv. Update. We have sun and –10 °C, though it feels like –17 °C (according to the weather app). That’s all. Still no water, no heating, no electricity, but the energy system is slowly recovering.
- Kyiv is in total blackout, as are many parts of Ukraine. No water, no heating, no electricity. Severe frost outside. This is the result of constant russian attacks. Thank you to those few who still care.
- There is major accident in Ukraine's energy system. Many cities are without electricity.
- Greetings from Kyiv. Saturday morning. No power. No water. No heating. I’m reading that similar problems are reported across the city. Total blackout in Kyiv.

- The fact that russia hasn’t attacked our energy facilities for a day doesn’t mean we have electricity or normal heating. Kyiv. No power, almost no heat at home. It’s already -10 °C outside and getting colder. russia has damaged our energy system so badly that one quiet day won’t fix anything.

- The ugliest thing about this war is that russians can do whatever they want and remain unpunished. Perhaps you’ve seen the news: russian drones hit a passenger train. As of now, five people were killed. Unpunished evil doesn’t stop.

- Damn proud of Minnesota.
- On NPR on Friday, there was a story of a 4-year-old--an American citizen--who hasn't left her house since early December, not even to play in the yard. And her 8-year-old brother recently stopped going to school, too. Their father is undocumented, and the family doesn't want to risk him being taken.

- Greetings from Kyiv. I’m fine, just needed some me-writing time. No need to worry if I don’t post, but thank you. I’ve just sent a new Sunday Letter; you’re welcome to read. Electricity is a bit better today (Kyiv is big, and the situation differs across districts).
