I've rented for almost 20 years but I've never seen landlords as blatantly money-grubbing as they are now. My current one just tried to raise my rent by 36% to penalize me for trying to go month to month to coerce me into signing a longer term lease. Longer term lease is still $120 more/month 🫠
Jan 5, 2026 17:58I should point out that another unit in down the hall is only $15 more with a 2 month rent concession, too. The landlord straight up said they're using the collusion software all complexes use to set rent prices, and essentially, current tenants pay more because there aren't enough new rentals 🤬
