- This chap born in San Piero a Sieve (near Florence) apparently believed it was a foreign state, with its own citizenship, and that he was not in fact Italian (typical Tuscans). But he wasn't provincial, he listed his mastery of Roman dialect under 'foreign languages spoken', so all credit to him.
