- Weird and almost universal revisionism today. Even at the time, it was pretty clear that Mandelson wasn't appointed *despite* his dodgy links but *because* of them. Trump's Washington is a dirty swamp. Mandelson was deemed a man able to swim in it. This wasn't a secret. Everybody said it out loud.

- I have a friend who illustrates children's books and if hes given a book and it doesn't explicitly mention both a Mum and a Dad... They're gay. The book mentions a Dad? He's drawing two. The book mentions a Mum? Let's double up. Everything is gay until proven otherwise and he will illustrate as such

- Spent a decade working for the Jobcentre. By the letter of the law could have referred many for a probable sanction. Unless blatant pisstakers, rarely did, as at worst, some of them would've ended up dead. Making it out of the house for a chat with me was often achievement enough

- Icelandic uses various animal poop in insults. Examples: Sparðatíningur (lamb poop picking) = you’re nitpicking. Kríuskítur (arctic tern poop) = you’re super pale. Tittlingaskítur (small bird poop) = doesn’t matter/small fry. Taðskegglingur (horse poop beard) = you’ve such a bad/nonexistent beard.

- I wish the Epstein nightmare weren’t the most heinous and disturbing shit that’s ever happened, because what these files reveal about how much labor it takes to create the illusion of everyday frictionlessness for the uber-wealthy is so appallingly fascinating
- I'm worried that the broader public isn't really understanding the Epstein Files. The problem isn't that everyone in the files is a secret pedophile, it's that all the people are corresponding with him because they *don't care that he's a pedophile*. It's a story of elite impunity.
