I gotta say though... they've known about this person's behavior for *decades*. I first heard rumours of it on my first trip to the US in 2005! Why would they act now, rather than that time he married *his own undergrad?*
Feb 4, 2026 18:27Yeah all the people who are shocked by this honestly surprise me. This adds a particular detail to the story, but it’s the same tired story it’s been. It’s not good, but my first reaction was “well yeah, that tracks”.
They gave him the Romer-Simpson medal the year after he married his 19-year-old undergrad.
