everything has nuance, etc. etc., but i think that it's annoying that almost every response to "why isn't anyone having kids anymore?" is something like, "no one can afford to have kids" bc it neglects the fact that even in a different economy, some of us still wouldn't want kids.
Jan 30, 2026 16:51i could be a millionaire and still not want kids. many people could have everything in the world they ever wanted and not have to work another day in their lives and they still wouldn't want kids. there is definitely a "no one can afford it" side to things, but some people just don't want kids.
