Attempts to set up a new left-wing party in Scotland determinedly ignoring the existence of the Scottish Greens in their opening statements is, honestly, embarassing.
It's because they know the policy platform is basically identical, and they've yet to come up with a good pitch why they exist.
The non-Green Scottish left haven't managed better than 0.9% in the Scottish elections since 2007, even after several attempts setting up new parties to try.
Why? Because there already is a party of the progressive left in Scotland, and it has councillors and MSPs across the country.
