New models like R1 are achieving the same quality of answers as OpenAI’s O1 this week, while being trained for 96.4% less cost and with 91% less electricity.
All of humanity’s biggest achievements so far, from Wikipedia to the nuclear bomb to the Sagrada Familia, has been done by human brains running on 20 watts.
In principle, there are no laws of physics that say we can’t have the same efficiency with digital intelligence.
