    Working a late Friday shift in the National Gallery. Vic Reeves comes up to me asking about a nonexistent event in a room nearby. Politely told him there wasn't one and he walked off in a huff. Only later did I realise he was probably looking for an event in the National Portrait Gallery next door.

      One of my academic colleagues looks a bit like Bob Mortimer. One time near our labs I saw him walking towards me and I warmly said Hey Kevin. It was Bob Mortimer. Please share your very low impact celebrity encounters here.

    People used to confuse the NG with the NPG *all the time* (and probably still do) so this was nothing unusual. Still, as a Shooting Stars/Reeves & Mortimer fan, I was gutted.
