- RIP Steve Cropper. A guitar player for the ages. One of his lesser-known credits is a bit of guitar on Big Star’s Third/Sister Lovers. Apparently Alex Chilton’s weird druggy depressive vibes scared him and he stood outside the room to record his licks
- I used to read constantly. Now I just don’t have the time or space in my life for it. Maybe I will again some day. I didn’t know it at the time but I was front-loading my life with literature. Glad I did!

- We checked out Crystal Grottoes cave near Sharpsburg, MD. It’s been decades since I’ve been in a cave, I used to explore wild caves as a kid/teen. Since the Appalachians are made of limestone, there are many caves around where I grew up. A fair amount have been turned into tourist spots like this
