- Americans should follow the money and find out what contractors are profiting off of ICE and CBP persecution, such as detention centers, etc., as well as what companies' goods or services are being used by them (e.g. weapons, uniforms, vehicles, hotels, etc.) to pressure them to stop.
- Americans should educate themselves about federal search and seizure laws and about due process. They should demand that Congress conduct better oversight over ICE and CBP, and that States exercise their sovereignty more fully through legislation, criminal investigations or civil action.
- Americans should educate themselves about migrants. Nativists do not understand the legal differences between immigrants, migrant workers and refugees seeking asylum based on credible fear of persecution, or about the different processes for visa overstays vs. irregular entries.
- There is no need for a do-over internationally monitored presidential election in Venezuela, as center-right opposition candidate @EdmundoGU won in 2024 in a landslide, as the U.S. and others recognized, which the Carter Center, etc. monitored. The Socialist dictatorship would cheat again.
- The oppressive theocratic Islamic Republic of Iran, the worst state sponsor of terrorism in the world, is an ally of Russia, like Iranian ally Syria was before the tyrannical Assad regime was overthrown a year ago. As part of the Axis of Evil, Iran materially aids Russian aggression in Ukraine.
- The United States and its allies should be validating the Iranian people in their struggle for liberty and representative government by encouraging them to rise up, and to offer the promise of peaceful relations with a free Iran, as has occurred with Syria.

- The justification for overthrowing a brutal tyrant/serial aggressor/state sponsor of terrorism who was violating the cease-fire and UN resolutions was stronger than versus Venezuela, which Trump is failing to make a case for. We did find 1000s of WMDs, plus the banned chemicals to make more.

- Yes, but the professional media usually does not even point out the dishonesty of foreign tyrants and terrorists, and instead reports their statements verbatim -- usually uncritically -- or at best adds "these statements could not be independently verified," let alone noting Trump's lies.

- Yes, German Chancellor Merz is emerging as the leader of the Free World, with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk maybe second. The United Kingdom and France are Great Powers and their leaders are stepping up and should do more, but domestically are less politically secure.

- Authoritarians around the world have been declaring their opponents "terrorists" who -- at most -- are militants or not even violent. Few Americans on any side violently target innocent civilians to terrorize the populace to intimidate them to give into their demands, but target certain individuals.

- There are separate votes in the Electoral College under the 12th Amendment. Prior to then, each Elector cast two votes for President. Whomever received the most, was elected President and second the Vice President, provided they received a majority. Parties were not as unified about their tickets.

- Good point: the mid-late 20s to 30s were the heyday of nativism, protectionism and isolationism -- the three pillars of Trumpist populism. It did not end well. And it would not this time again.

- Yes, but we also need in the meantime to nominate legacy Republicans in the 2026 mid-term congressional elections, or to state offices. Perhaps the 2028 GOP nominee could emerge from the ranks of any such candidate.
- U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Johnson swore in the Republican nominee in the TN special House election before the certification of results, in contrast to well after when a Democrat recently was elected. No swearing in should occur before certification, but soon after.

- If reasonable modifications are needed for treaties, then the remedy is not to violate the treaties, but to propose such modifications for the other signatories to consider and, upon the signatories' agreement, for the Senate to approve the modified treaty.

- Increased revenue from tariffs means that money was taken out of the American economy (i.e. from consumers) and given to government, which is economically harmful.
- Trumpists, contrary to conservative fiscal policy, are cheering the increased revenue from Trump's tax increase on imports (tariffs), which means levying the tariffs failed Trump's protectionist purpose of discouraging people from buying American goods over imports.

- Of course, Trump is exaggerating, but the irony is that George Washington handled the Yellow Fever outbreak in Philadelphia -- with much less information -- much better than Trump handled the Coronavirus Pandemic.

We all should connect with each other to keep each other informed, validate our views, and support each other, lest we think we are alone, as Trumpists want us to feel so we give into them. And we show the center-left that we have principles.
