- Reposted by Jacob S. ZelkoHello Friends! I'm on the job market now! I have a oodles of knowledge for all the software performance engineering tricks in Rust, Julia and other systems languages and would love to work with teams that are looking to skill up in those respects, from back ends to big data crunching!
- My mentee, Kosuri L Indu, just finished writing a blog series on Patient Level Prediction workflows within #julialang! Our approach is inspired from OHDSI (Dr. Jenna Reps's work in particular), #rstats, and precision medicine going from phenotype definitions to real world evidence! 🧪 🛟🩺 #MLSky
- In the series, we explored how possible it is to do PLP within Julia. Good news: Julia's composition is killer; we get deep functionality for ✨ free ✨ Bad news: workflows are still rough Hopeful news: we are building ergonomic tools to make PLP easier and lots of long-hanging fruit available!
- For the past year, I have been co-PI of a cardiooncology research study on 35 million patients using Julia methods for PLP. If you are @juliacon.bsky.social this year, you'll get to hear more! Learned a lot & excited about publishing and developing more research software for PLP! #academicsky
- ❓for math friends: How long do you spend studying maths each week on average? This includes reading theory, discussing/working problems, & reviewing material. 😵💫 Doing some independent studies and it can be hard to gauge "where one is at." 🤔 LMK in comments -- thanks! 🤗 #mathsky 🧪 #academicsky
- Be me: Programming in #julialang for half a decade. Write #opensource software & help across ecosystems. Present at multiple JuliaCon's & other science conferences. Forget what the reserved word "continue" does. 🤦♂️ We are winning so hard today. 🏆 🧪
