It’s unfortunate that the officially promoted 2600 group on Facebook is run by right wing admin. I don’t know if he’s specifically a Trumper but I’ve independently confirmed he’s an asshole.
Jan 19, 2026 16:24He turned off my ability to comment in the group about a month ago because I dared to say positive things about communism in a post memorializing the fall of the Soviet Union.
But using his admin powers to silence opposing viewpoints wasn’t enough.
I hadn’t even noticed the light banning until he made a public post on his own timeline, tagging me, with a screenshot of my comment claiming I was trolling.
That was weird and unexpected so I replied that, no, I was being sincere.
He replied that he was just happy to be able to show my friends and family who I really am (I assume via the public tagging?)
But all my friend and family know my views and like/love me anyway so 🤷♂️.
I freely admit that my political posting in 2600 was a mistake. 90% of my posts on FB are in political threads and when I saw the OP I failed to notice it was in 2600. Unlike Andy and his posse I do my best to not cross the streams.
Anyway, the whole thing is stupid and petty so I shrugged it off but then I see the guy parroting right wing nonsense.
It’s sad, because the group is a source of interesting articles, and I fully expect zero people to care, but I’ve left that group.
I have no time or patience for bullies.
