Understanding the hype and massive amounts of money being poured into AI can only be done through an understanding of communism and its resolution of class struggle.
Just as communism seeks to abolish the bourgeois class, the massive investment into AI seeks to abolish the working class.
A good analogy was chattel slavery in the US. To ascend from the working class, one had to save up and buy a slave.
But the hope is that instead of slaves (labour power) one must buy compute power.
Instead of selling one’s own labour power, they sell the labour power replicated by AI.

And I am specific with my wording here because AI doesn’t generate labour power, it replicates it.
