- What I *do* see is backlash to crit of kids media that does not give enough deference to that media's intended audience ("well of course it's easy/dumb/shallow, it's for kids!"). But a critic's job is not to review it from some imagined audience's perspective, but their own.
- At that point what you're asking is for the critic to either turn off their critical lens to appease you, not review the thing at all, or be a child. Which hey, I wouldn't mind seeing a kid review a pixar film for The New Yorker
