- Reposted by SueWeird and almost universal revisionism today. Even at the time, it was pretty clear that Mandelson wasn't appointed *despite* his dodgy links but *because* of them. Trump's Washington is a dirty swamp. Mandelson was deemed a man able to swim in it. This wasn't a secret. Everybody said it out loud.

- Reposted by SueKemi Badenoch is trying to argue the appointment of Mandelson as US ambassador harmed international relations between the US and UK, in the light of his Epstein connections. Which…given the US President was Epstein's "best friend" for a decade or more, feels like a swing and a miss.
- Reposted by SueJust a quick note to @greenparty.org.uk and @greenpartyhan.bsky.social - I was not consulted on being quoted on your leaflets and I have not endorsed your campaign (or any campaign in this seat). I think this note, like the bar chart next to it, is misleading and out of context.

- Reposted by SueThe government has: 1. Referred Mandelson to the police for investigation over leaking sensitive information while in government 2. Decided it *will* try to strip Mandelson of his peerage after all. That’s both throwing him under the bus and then reversing to make sure in one fell swoop.
- Reposted by SueBreaking: The European Commission said on Tuesday it would investigate Mandelson, who was European trade commissioner from 2004-8 before leaving early to return to UK politics. Mandelson draws a pension from his time there and has to adhere to a code of conduct for former staff.

- Reposted by SueI agree that the Greens are going to have to drop their anti-NATO positioning if they want to grow their support base. The problem Polanski will face is the former Corbynites that now make up the backbone of his party’s membership will kick up all manner of fuss if he tries to pivot on this.
- Reposted by Sue1. Interesting to see Reform abandon its flirtation with nativism / birth rate boosterism in favour of the policy of the last Tory government 2. “Starve a kid for a cheaper pint” is quite the policy. Be interested to see how that performed in focus groups (especially all male versus mixed).
- Reposted by SueTomorrow I fly back to the Lofoten Islands in the Norwegian Arctic. Last year the first night we arrived I filmed this outrageous combination of full moon rainbow combined with Northern Lights. Hard to imagine how this year could top it, but fingers crossed!
