- Reposted by Stephen BrooksA wonderful profile of the late, great Norm Breyfogle by @leekeeler.bsky.social - an artist who deserves more acclaim and remains underrated. But he's definitely on my Batman artistic Mount Rushmore. littlevillagemag.com/peak-iowa-no...
- These folks are the BEST. I was not expecting this package before the big day, but Leeds’ finest elves have done it again. Merry Christmas @okcomics.bsky.social and @danielletute.bsky.social
- This is sad indeed. Paul was not only a dynamic and creative leader but a witty and kind man, to boot.
- This might be my favorite yet ...

- Hot on the heels of the also-excellent @brianmbendis.bsky.social bundle, I can't recommend this one enough. It's for the Hero Initiative, so consider paying a tad more than you have to - even just a pound/dollar or two. You'll still be getting an amazing deal AND helping support creators in need.
- Some highly justified use of bullet points here. @jonnelledge.bsky.social pretty much nailing it in terms of how a lot of people feel this week.

- Huh. Well I never. Just when you think @davidallengreen.bsky.social must surely have run out of ways to pleasantly surprise and generate respect. Now I'm wondering. Car Wars? Toon? Illuminati? Awful Green Things? ... O.G.R.E.?

- 100% this. It's a constant of all crises and affects commentators across the political spectrum. They start with whatever hobby horse they have and work backwards to why it's the one and only answer to the problem at hand.

- The salient point here is the ‘chicken and egg’ question. It seems very likely that none of these weirdos did this performative s**t until they could afford round-the-clock childcare or bully their sycophantic minions into always being available for 5am meetings.

- Plenty of Christmas spirit in evidence already from the folks at the best little comic shop in Britain. Especially kind as I was something of a a nit-picking customer this week … 😬 (If you still need a gift for the sequential art fan in your life, head to @okcomics.bsky.social in person or online!)

- Very relatable. Full disclosure though - I *would* drink the beer, too.
- “Attack ‘em”s … ? Nice to know the U.S. Military-Industrial Complex has a sense of humour.
- Lot* of new followers in the last couple of days. Whatever your reasons for joining this place, I hope it works out for you. In a few days, I’ll be taking a close look at my follower list. If I see no profile info AND no posts- you’ll be blocked. Real people only, please. (*Relatively speaking)
- My first reaction to this was "What?!" but then I realised that I do the same thing (in my head) with Stanley Kubrick and major world events. So maybe HM's articulating a common way of responding to a changing world ... ... or it's just the two of us. www.theguardian.com/culture/2024...

- Very pleased to see Ben Chu on the 10 o’ clock bulletin, tonight, in his role with the excellent BBC Verify - but it’s another sad reminder of the corporation’s gutting of Newsnight, where he also did a terrific job.
- Very pleased to have received this in tip-top condition from Unbound. Very much looking forward to reading it, after I’ve finished Philippe Squarzoni’s graphic novel adaptation of David Simon’s ‘Homicide’. Not sure how much tonal whiplash to expect tbh …
- Anybody hoping to write the defining horror story of 2024 can just take the rest of the year off. It's already been done and cannot be topped. You be the judge: should my wife’s family stop using my toothbrush? | Family | The Guardian
- Disorientating‘Proust-squared’ moment [memory of a memory]. I too went to that exhibition and felt the same rush of nostagia from these 70s paperbacks - a hugely formative part of my childhood reading - loved as much (if not more) than my fancy h/c ‘complete’ volumes.

- I keep urging people to watch this brilliant piece of television and then frustratingly realising that most of them don’t have Apple TV. ☹️ Huge pity as it feels genuinely different and innovative.
- Genuinely surprised to hear that they were still there in the first place. Can’t remember the last time I saw a major brand advertising on the hellsite. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...
