I respect Alex Honnold as one of the greatest climbers ever, but his Skyscraper event on Netflix feels schticky to me. The “live on TV” angle seeming positions a viewership more interested in watching him fall than summit. I won’t be watching live, but maybe I will afterward when I know he makes it.
