- #xinraqotd he learned the eorzean alphabet as a child in his village, and then as an apprentice at the blacksmith's guild in limsa as a teenager the guildmaster taught him enough basic reading/writing and math to get by handling his own commissions, and that's about it.

- it's not something that ever bothered him until he was regularly working alongside sharlayan scholars who were initially a bit lacking in tact about it. he's slowly working on improving his reading now with g'raha's patience (and from time reading with ryne when they were traveling on the first.)
