You cannot do "commonsense reform" for a secret police force that's declared itself exempt from constitutional requirements. You cannot reform ultraviolent agencies that have been corrupt for decades and now have accountability only to the president's goons and lackeys.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:
End the roving patrols and racial profiling.
Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.
Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

I joined a WMRJ cohort and a total normie dude (mindfulness exercise was new to him) was like "I joined this because the anger I feel towards what is going on was starting to impact my professional and personal life and I don't know how to help."
People are yearning so hard for leadership.
Some people are asking what I want Schumer to do. He should be screaming over medical care and access to facilities. He should be going to detention facilities himself and putting his body on the line, as he did at the border in 2019. He should lean into stories about New Yorkers in detention. [1/4]
A+ for this.
I would also point out that moving on this isn't difficult or exhaustive. It's just a framework to get started! It's not that hard!
I don’t understand why colleagues stay silent when this happens.
KAITLAN COLLINS: What would say to Epstein survivo---
TRUMP: You are so bad. You are the worst report. No wonder CNN has no ratings. She's a young woman. I don't think I've ever seen you smile. They should be ashamed of you.
I wish somebody with more knowledge would @ the pool right here so they could chime in.
Mike Johnson lies that voter ID "is an 80 or 90 percent issue on the polling nationwide"
Wonder why he wears so much makeup

their individual messages out to, and then the issue that had brought everybody out was secondary. I do think normies like me have some patience with longtime activists - like ok, they've been dedicated to this for years so I can be patient for a bit - but it makes you question individual 3/
decision making. Like if I was up there with 1000 people in the freezing cold, I would not be lecturing them on capitalism as the root of all evil at this time. If somebody told me to do that I'd be like dude they aren't here for that. end/
I (like average person) went to a protest here (Portland Maine) a few weeks ago. It was about 2F but well attended with nonactivists hungry for meaning since ICE had just arrived. Like tell us what to do and how to help. The first speaker was...a guy talking about Puerto Rican independence 1/
and how the US conquered PR with "secret weapons" etc. The following speakers (DSA, a local DSA candidate, etc.) were better but still struggled to connect with the present moment and the people who were there. It seemed more important to them that they had a captive audience they could get 2/
They left an elderly US citizen on her way to pay her rent with a torn rotator cuff and a concussion. This was in Salem, Oregon. Absolutely no one should vote to fund these lawless thugs.
I don't think local PD yet understand that community groups are going to step in where they are retreating, and local PD are going to basically lose the public. Towns will rightly wonder what their taxpayer $ is going to and look to other scenarios for community protection.

I don't understand why they always want to defund everything else (including things that are working) but this one is an abject failure the public loathes but it deserves "reform".
