- #biomechsky question. Is there a way to plot opensim models/kinematics/ whatever native from python? That is, without opening an opensim window, can I plot a vsiualisation of my results of the sim? If not, why not? And would you be interested in it?
- And another preprint. This time with Simone Berkelmans and @maartenafschrift.bsky.social Foot placement is not controlled based on angular momentum. Bold title; hope it stands up to your scrutiny! As always; feedback and comments more than welcome! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
- Just realised @gengyang.bsky.social is on Bsky as well…. Give her a follow if you like this work!
- New preprint; Shared feedback control principles across standing and walking. With Yang Geng and @jvandieen.bsky.social. Feedback welcome! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

- You can still register for the International Motor Impairments Conference; motorimpairment.org. The program looks exciting so what are you waiting for?
- Any people going to #isb2025 on here? Thinking of going bouldering there one evening. Want to join? Let me know!
- Reposted by Sjoerd BruijnSee you in Japan! #ISPGR2027
- If this were a normal @ispgr.bsky.social and I would be handling the official account as usual, this is the moment I would sign off. Not this year. Keynote tomorrow at 8:30. Party in full swing. Loving it! See you all tomorrow! #ispgr2025

- Meeting friends old and new on #ispgr2025. Hope to connect online as well! @ispgr.bsky.social
- And another preprint, this one from our STEPUP consortium: "Foot placement coordination is impaired in people with Parkinson’s Disease". Too many authors to tag! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... feedback welcome!
- New preprint by Yiyuan Li, with @jvandieen.bsky.social and others; The contribution of vestibular and proprioceptive signals to trunk stabilization varies between postural tasks and between walking speeds. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... feedback welcome!
- On my way to Maastricht for @ispgr.bsky.social! See you there!
- Bump. Who will join for bouldering? probably tuesday after conference.
- So who on here is going to ISPGR this year? Anyone up for a night of bouldering? There's a great gym in Maastricht... #Biomechsky
- New preprint with Yaqi Li, Eugenie Lambrecht and @jvandieen.bsky.social; www.biorxiv.org/cgi/content/... Suggestions and feedback welcome! #BiomechSky
- Vote for @leeuwenmoira.bsky.social and Mohammadreza! www.formdesk.com/vuamsterdam/...
- Want to do this. Shall I do this?
- Also, (ssssht, tell this to your students!) I've heard that despite the deadline, the registration for the mentorship programme is still open..... What are you(re students) waiting for? ispgr.org/mentor-progr... #biomechsky

- That time of the year again…. Waiting for an old geezer on the other side of the pond to light a cigarette, so the refreshing of my feed can begin… #bm100
- Ok, sky help me out here. If doing inverse kinematics using IMUs, is really only the orientation of the sensors used? It would seem that if you have a reasonable estimate of pos of sensor on segment, given kinematic chain, you would also know acc, and hence, could use that info for better fit. 1/2
- yet, the implementations I've looked at in some detail (OpenSense, XSense MVN) do not seem to use this? Does anybody do this, or not? If not, why not? Too hard (seems unlikely)? Does not add anything?
- Come to Amsterdam this fall (Oct 8-10) for the International Motor Impairment Conference!
- Have free living lower back IMU data, and want to identify gait? Check out new preprint by Yuge Zhang; "An open-source, externally validated neural network algorithm to recognize daily-life gait of older adults based on a lower-back sensor". www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1.... Feedback welcome!

- Out of office! :-)
- Preprint alert! With amazing Msc student Raven (looking for a job!) and @jendavies.bsky.social, we studied involvement of the motor cortex in stabilizing gait with TMS. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... Feedback welcome! This was a really fun collab, made possible thanks to @royalsociety.org grant!

- Just updated my code to stream (acc, gyr, mag, etc) data from your phone to Matlab, so that it also works with newer versions of Android. Want to do some fun measurements with your phone, check it out! github.com/SjoerdBruijn...
