- Reposted by Ho! Ho! Holiday Viewing!Q: Why will football be featured during the Bad Bunny concert?* A: The Bad Bunny concert is fantastic exposure for the NFL and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to put the game of American football in front of fans of the biggest musical artist in the world.
- Deck the Hallmark reviews my least-favorite new holiday movie of 2025, Hulu's JOY TO THE WORLD. @aduralde.bsky.social and @brambledan.bsky.social get it. Bran…not so much. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/d...
- Newly available on Amazon Prime Video, 2002's IT'S A VERY MERRY MUPPET CHRISTMAS MOVIE and 1942's HOLIDAY INN, both of which have only been streaming via digital sale/rental in recent years.

- ALL'S FAIR IN LOVE AND MAHJONG set to start filming tomorrow in Victoria under the guidance of director Jessica Harmon. Originally developed as a Christmas title, not sure if the holiday elements remain, but this was the final project for producer Karen Glass.
- Writer-director Blaise Beyhan set to start filming historical 1910-set drama, NEW ENGLAND TOYS, in and around Buffalo, NY next week. Sisters kill an abusive husband, putting their family toy business in jeopardy. Their cover-up of the brutal crime, inadvertently helps establish holiday traditions.
- Another royalty-centered Maverick holiday production gearing up to start filming in Santa Clarita, Calif. next week, A ROYAL CHRISTMAS SWITCH. A Prince and the Pauper takeoff, where a prince schemes to experience a normal American holiday season after a chance meeting with his doppelganger.
- Joss Wood's 2023 romance novel, CONFESSIONS OF A CHRISTMASHOLIC, set to be adapted into a made-for-TV movie. Now in pre-production in Ottawa under the guidance of producers Andrew Erin and Lex Emanuel of Fireside Pictures, which has produced movies for Hallmark, Lifetime and Canadian TV.
- Why movies have a much harder time becoming "classics" in the streaming age "Cable television rewarded inertia. Streaming rewards decisiveness. If you don’t actively choose a film, it essentially doesn’t exist. Once you’ve watched it, the system will not resurface it" letterboxd.com/email/crowd-...

- After shifting premiere programming from Hallmark Mystery in early 2025, Hallmark Channel toyed with Sunday mystery debuts, but seems to have settled on sticking to Saturdays for 2026, slating SUGAR & VICE: A HANNAH SWENSEN MYSTERY and NELLY KNOWS MYSTERIES: ALL MANNERS OF MURDER, for March 7 and 14
- Hallmark acquired Jen Lilley-Dan Jeannotte CROWN JEWEL OF LOVE, now known as A ROYAL SETTING, for March 28 debut. A distinctly small budget joint, from Hideaway Pictures, who works primarily with MPCA, and has produced a whole lot of Great American Family content in recent years. Not great signs.
- An industry professional was kind of enough to check the numbers (thank you!), and MISSING THE BOAT garnered a strong 1.448M live + same day total viewers last Saturday, which are very strong numbers for Hallmark Channel outside the holidays.
- At end of December, publicly available Nielsen data (at least ones I know) started omitting total viewership numbers and only sharing demo percentages. So, for instance, can’t see total viewership for MISSING THE BOAT but was No.3 most-watched show on cable and had higher demo than most holiday fare
- The Prince Edward Island-shot Christmas horror movie, UNHOLY NIGHT, Michael Gabriele's feature directorial debut, has landed a distribution deal with UK-based Blue Finch Films. - THE FALL AND RISE OF REGGIE DINKINS is really, sincerely funny and it brings our Gen X queen Erika Alexander back into the spotlight where she belongs.
- Answer to this headline an obvious NO Am as excited about a new Nancy Meyers movie as anyone, but if it were a true, holiday-set film, it would be released way before December 25. So, while there could be a scene with a Christmas tree, don't expect THE HOLIDAY 2. www.indiewire.com/news/breakin...

- With notable exceptions of diversity, inclusion and basic competence, there's nothing Hallmark Channel does that Great American Family won't try and copy, only way more cheaply. GAF announced 4 "getaway" movies for February, all of them old (3 from 2022, 1 '24) and widely available on FAST channels

- Reposted by Ho! Ho! Holiday Viewing! For The Ringer, I wrote about how amazing it was that the brilliant Catherine O'Hara finally became a superstar in her 60s, and how sad it is that she was taken from us just when we had all finally begun to appreciate her:
- Reposted by Ho! Ho! Holiday Viewing!Macaulay Culkin pays tribute to his on-screen mother Catherine O’Hara: “Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you. But I had so much to say. I love you. I'll see you later.”

- Reposted by Ho! Ho! Holiday Viewing! One of a kind. She and Eugene Levy were such a great comedy team in so many Christopher Guest films and SCHITT'S CREEK. And of course, her role in HOME ALONE is gonna live forever every Christmas RIP.
- Catherine O’Hara has died at the age of 71, TMZ reports. (www.tmz.com/2026/01/30/c...)
- I know people say the one thing TMZ is never wrong about are celebrity deaths, but I am hoping this is the time they are. Seems impossible.

- HAPPY HOLLY DAY, f.k.a. HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS, is filming now in Henderson, Kentucky. youtu.be/ulhliXFJh_g?...
- Another interesting Polaha-provided tidbit in this chat is Hallmark asked him to decline THE CHRISTMAS RING (Polaha was originally announced as co-lead, before Ben Hollingsworth), as a "conflict of interest" and gave him the upcoming MISSING THE BOAT as sort of a make-good for the lost role.
- A new day, a new location/event-based Hallmark collaboration movie. KENTUCKY ROSES, starring Andrew Walker and Odette Annable, filmed on location at Churchill Downs, will air May 2, the same day as the Kentucky Derby. www.instagram.com/p/DUDpOb7DWa6/
