- Reposted by Simon ClarkNEW: Global fossil fuel use will peak before 2030 – unless 'stated policies' are abandoned Contra some terrible news coverage, IEA World Energy Outlook shows coal near peak, oil peaking by 2030 & gas by 2035 (see chart) What's going on? 🧵 + cool charts www.carbonbrief.org/iea-fossil-f...
- An excellent email I just received. I feel like this has copypasta potential.
- I think this might be the roughest month I've ever had as a climate communicator. Well, scratch that. Someone who cares about the future of life on this planet. This is just the shit cherry on top of a shit cake with shit frosting. And it's only the 17th. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
- The Time For Ch4nge film that I narrated is up for a Shorty Award!! It's a public vote, so if you fancy getting more visibility on the important topic of methane emissions, it would be greatly appreciated <3 shortyawards.com/10th-impact/...

- This year we've been really swinging for the fences. Our latest video is our biggest one yet, nearly an hour long and involving half a dozen experts. Asking "Should lying about climate change be illegal?" and, if so, how do we make it so? youtu.be/FKtCuwfUCJg
- I thought this was brilliant www.vanityfair.com/news/story/c...
- The methane film that I helped create is being shown in New York Climate week on Tuesday! www.climateweeknyc.org/events/plain...
- I'm looking for a part-time research assistant to help research and fact-check long form YouTube videos, with an emphasis on climate misinformation campaigns. If you or someone you know would be a good fit, please check out this form! Applications close on 26/9. forms.gle/mpyzcdjwv63C...
- Finding the EDL rally in London heartbreaking. 150,000 people - and many more online - who clearly care deeply about their country and want to do what they see as the right thing. Having their illiteracies exploited by shameless grifters promising simple solutions to complex problems. It's tragic

- how it feels when you just know a politician is taking money from the fossil fuel industry but you can't prove it

- By the way, if you're in the south west of England and like music you should sign up to my choir's newsletter! We send a couple of emails a year letting you know when our next concerts and workshops are: thehandful.org/newsletter
- Reposted by Simon ClarkThe Department of Energy hired five academics to raise doubts about climate change. 85+ climate experts (organized by @andrewdessler.com) reviewed their report. Our conclusion, detailed in 450 pages of analysis: it is biased, full of errors, and not fit to inform policy making.
- Writing this next video has caused legit psychic damage. So far I've had to wade through a lot of Project 2025, historical misinfo from the fossil fuel industry, human trafficking in Thailand, and a lot of AI slop. It's turned into a bit of a monster and I'm not honestly sure when it will be out 😅

- Had fun singing evensong in St Mary Redcliffe church in Bristol today, a gorgeous 14th century building. Music by Palestrina and Gibbons* * sadly, a human composer

- Done. Final swim time: 7:02:53.
- Today is the big day of the swim, and the BBC were nice enough to write an article about me and dad! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
- I've just been made aware of the MapYourGrid initiative to map electrical grids around the world, especially in the global south, to provide better data for energy planners. They have resources teaching you how to map the grid using JOSM and an active discord. Very cool! mapyourgrid.org
- Well that was deeply unpleasant The stream will feature in the video recapping the swim in a week or two! In the meantime if you laughed at my discomfort you are legally* required to donate to my fundraiser givewheel.com/fundraising/... * not legally binding
