- Everyone could use a high quality thinking chair.
- A new skill I am trying to improve for my transition back to work. Trying to memorize this.
- A favorite subgenre is Samara Weaving covered in blood. There must 8 or 9 of these movies--all good watches. Looking forward to this one. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFDW...
- Things haven't been good since we lost Bowie, Alan Rickman, and Harambe; and the US went crazy. There is a strong societal need for people to make quality trouble and build new stuff.
- Good news. My doc has given me the okay to transition to work at the end of the month. Hopefully, this account will get less boring and we can get back to some quality STEM work (i.e., shenanigans, tomfoolery, escapades, mischief).
- Simple, but still true: If your science, comedy, politics, religion, logic, business, or words punch down and create suffering among the less powerful; then they are fatally flawed and you are a bad person.

- Man, the world is brutally ugly out there. Take care of yourselves and consider that hex placed on you to be lifted.
- The biggest surprise when I changed careers to academia was that I thought everyone would be an intellectual. Most are technicians. The most intellectual and well-read person I have ever met was named Luis. We worked as landscapers in South Florida. We shared and discussed books over lunch.
- Preparing my webinar on improving credibility in psychology is hard. The content is not tough. Tougher is chilling the tone so I am not directly accusing people of research fraud, cutting corners, profiteering, or unethical clinical work.
- Peer review is kayfabe
- I see folks holding up Ignaz Semmelweis as a hero of science and political activism. Yes. He was. But things did not go well for him. He died at 47 in an asylum and ostracized from his profession. And most of his suffering was caused by his peers. His shrill, harsh. and accusing tone was an issue.
- Indie knows Sundays.
- I heard that Randomized Control Trials should be called Trick or Treatment. Now I have referred to this family of studies as "ToT" in writing.
- Free webinar for CPA members. Feb 13 at 1:00 (Eastern). Registration link: us02web.zoom.us/meeting/regi...
- Indie is looking both cute and grouchy.
- When a friend calls and says, “I’m coming over in 30 minutes to check on you, have a chat, and I’m bringing food.” Great friend.
- Giving up coffee for good. Now all coffee drinking is for villainy. And it tastes better now.
- Finally, some relaxation with an old fashioned and hockey.
- My character must be built to epic proportions by now. TBH, I really could use significantly less character.

- Better get to work. The Batphone is ringing.
- Life is definitely weird. Warm, comforting pleasures make life better.
- Indie is now a full on comfort hound.
- Difficult and tedious times. Coffee is an essential part of the recovery process.
- Avocados are the bullies of the kitchen. When five become ripe at the same time—they scream to be guacamole until you make it or they break bad.
- Coming soon. From CPA’s school psychology month (February). I’m doing a little webinar on credibility in our training and practice. More info to come.
- Like oxygen. But tastier.
- Zoe’s birthday brunch. Mimosas required, brunch without alcohol is just sad late breakfast
- Feels great to be back at the home gym. Still at a beginner level, but the mojo is returning quickly. Gym against cancer.
- I am getting squirrely and restless (that's a good thing--I feel great). I gotta get back to work. Or at least start dancing.

- Completely agree that these are the big three tools for life.
- Seems simple and silly. But I’m always on the hunt for slivers of joy.
- Working on my hexes, curses, and removing such curses. It seems to be a reasonable hobby for me to share with my blooskie friends.
- Good exercise. Good coffee. Ready for a big day ahead.

- Radiotherapy is such a weird thing. Big whirring machines rotating around my fragile self. Generally terrifying. Getting used to it. 3 sessions down, 27 to go. Feeling good.
- A good list of things to achieve in 2026. I can be on board for all of these items.

- Cold and windy outside (about -15c). I saw a jogger on the ice at 5:00am today. Good on ya for that level of commitment, dude. Quality warm coffee inside is more my speed.
- For the 1st time in my life, I hired a housekeeper. It was weird and awkward and I didn't like it. I feel like a working class traitor watching folks clean my mess. But--gotta say, the place looks good.

- Indie has had enough winter.
- It was nice to contribute to the continuing CBC reporting on school absenteeism. They are doing great work in this area. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
- The ritual of coffee is a lovely refuge from the horribleness of the world.

- So happy to see our premiere resign—11% approval will do that. Racism, the “businessman” model of underfunding key services, destruction of English universities, and anti immigrant tone is what we will remember from the Legault term.
- It's always a good day to give thanks to my adopted country. I could not more grateful and lucky to be here.
- I am inspired. But more importantly, I am coffeed.
- I am starting to feel like I need to prepare parts of my house to provide safe spaces for Americans seeking sanctuary.
