- Newsletter plans, among lots of other plans, once more waylaid by illness. I started writing a post for February but it's dominated by the ME. Wanted to write about the books and films I've been reading and watching, when I've been able, but my brain's not really there yet.
- The baby's new favourite game appears to be trying to separate my eyelids from my face. Not sure about this one.
- Reposted by Seán Padraic BirnieMandelson would never have been exposed by the British media if it wasn't for the US DOJ dumping all those files. They would have assisted in covering up his role instead, like they've been doing for the past 30 years. They knew what he was and they kept quiet for decades.
- In that phase of the me/cfs cycle where I read articles about supplements and contemplate paying £300 to join an 11-month waiting list to talk to a doctor, but at least the brain fog is easing. I can read (C.D. Rose's Walter Benjamin Stares at the Sea - which is *so* good) and go for short walks.

- Reposted by Seán Padraic BirnieThere are people who haven’t quite loomed up the way they may, but who, in small roles, like Catherine O’Hara, do stuff you’ve never seen before, like what she did in BEETLEJUICE. I mean, she’s an amazement. (1992)

- me/cfs relapse has really set the cat among the adhd pigeons.
- re: that Rachel Reeves line about how people who don’t go to university shouldn’t have to pay for those who do: I’ve never been to war or supported any of the wars the governments of my lifetime have launched. So I‘m looking forward to a massive refund that’s surely due.
- Reposted by Seán Padraic Birniemy dad didn’t go to university and he was extremely happy to pay taxes for his four children to do so; and, indeed, for the doctors who treated him at Addenbrookes to have gone to university as well.
- Detectorists is one of my favourite things in the world, so this is something to look forward to. Crook seems like such a lovely bloke. I’ll be thinking of him as ‘Small Paul’ from now on.

- Reposted by Seán Padraic BirnieSTP Issue #13 is out now! A bumper issue of weird fiction, wretched vibes, queer cyberpunk, vengeful aliens, an unhinged horsegirl, and loads more. The sick cover art is by Ana Luna and design is by J.R. Bolt.
- Can't wait to see this in print, and what a line-up. Just look at the pretty red guy. Previous issues available here: undertowpublications.com/shop
- Reposted by Seán Padraic BirnieI know issue 12 isn't even out yet—soon—but revel in the glory of the cover and contributors of issue 13 (Summer). Art by James Hutton. Design by Vince Haig. I'll be doing a big pre-order push soon on our 2026 titles to try and secure some much-needed operating funds.

- Someone just sighed and said ‘oh ___, you are fucking shit,’ to me on TLoU Factions, and when I replied ‘I know I am,’ they thought for a moment and then said ‘I respect you for knowing it.‘

- Someone should write a horror story titled ‘This is More of a Comment than a Question’
- Reposted by Seán Padraic BirnieThis is really excellent. What I really appreciate about Zach Gillan's writing is how ecumenical and wide-ranging it is. This piece demonstrates that well, pointing toward some interesting intersections of affect, reading strategies, and genre expectations.

- The only thing the baby loves more than banging his feet on the floor is when you also bang your feet on the floor and the two of you have a little banging-your-feet-on-the-floor party together.
