Communities rightly remember people killed on roads, treated as race tracks, by people speeding through. We all need to be clear that speeding is harmful and a risk never worth taking.

But for a 25 minute trip on an e-bike, that probability jumps to 28%. E-bikes don't just make riding easier, they drastically expand the acceptable range for bike commuting.

- Being a car-free family with two kids has been very doable for us. This has helped: - make transport a factor in important decisions (nursery, school, clubs, work, etc) - own good waterproofs - ask people for lifts (to A&E and birthday parties out of town) 1/2
- - allow more money for outings because trains are expensive (get a railcard!) - allow more time for outings (because public transport often takes a bit longer to get to that zoo/pool/castle) - take a taxi/hire a car when needed - carry your kids by bike - carry your babies/toddlers in a carrier 2/2
