- This is heartbreaking, Hefin was a great colleague, always a team player and hugely collegiate. My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
- Today I have written to the Foreign Secretary David Lammy expressing my concerns over the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
- Tonight at 8pm, in just over an hour, the Wales Women's Football Team will take on France in the UEFA Women's EURO 2025. My fellow Welsh MPs gathered in Westminster today to wish them the best of luck and I'll certainly be glued to the score throughout.
- Yesterday, thanks to the Government's intervention, I voted for the Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill at its Second Reading. Please see my statement below.
- I am one of over 100 Labour MPs that have signed this amendment to the UC & PIP Bill. Reform to the benefits system is urgently needed, but I cannot support this Bill as it stands. It should be given further time for consideration, and disabled people and charities must be properly consulted on it.
- Yes I do! Good article by the BBC on making us a #FurFreeBritain www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

- Employment minister Alison McGovern came to Blackwood today for a roundtable discussion on welfare support. We all came to the table with our own experiences of the system, and left with a determination to make it better. Thank you to Caerphilly Council, Citizens Advice, and everyone who joined 🤝
- Proudly wearing my #FurFreeBritain badge for PMQs
- This week, we delivered more than 1 million signatures, all calling for a ban on fur imports, to Number 10. If my Fur Bill passes on #FridayFurteenth, it would do just that. Let’s finally put the fur trade out of fashion.

- Taking in beautiful views of the Wales Coast Path with Amanda and @dimitribatrouni.bsky.social Just 4-min walk from the Six Bells which closed in 2018. The community has a plan to bring it back to life as a place to meet, buy local produce and learn more about the Gwent Levels! #savethesixbells
- 50 days until my Fur (Import and Sale) Bill returns to Parliament. By banning imports, we can finally end our part in the cruel fur trade, two decades after we banned fur farming. Let’s get this done. #FurFreeBritain
- The father and son who drowned off the coast of Australia have been named as Robin and Owen, from Islwyn. My heart goes out to the family and community who are grieving not one but two tragic losses in awful circumstances. Their deaths have been reported to the Coroners Court of Queensland.
- I sent FOI requests to the four Welsh police forces about dangerous dog stats. Their responses showed two things. 1. Dog control incidents have become increasingly common 2. Police data on this issue is inconsistent and incomplete

- Our moral outrage is backed by the science. The fur trade is not just cruel — it could cause the next pandemic. Read my thoughts in the Mirror www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...

- I was shocked to see the awful injuries suffered by Yuki as the result of a dog attack on Risca Road. - The Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme helps people of all faiths and none. It helps them to access vital services at the heart of their community, and sustain treasured local buildings that tell the history of our nation. So, I’m delighted it has been renewed for another year! 👏
- This morning I spoke to the Post Office about the imminent closure of the Bassaleg branch. The sooner residents get a local service up and running again, the better.
- Shwmae! I met up with Duo the Owl in Parliament this week to discuss the important role of Duolingo, and keeping its Welsh materials accessible and up-to-date, if we are to hit our target of 1 million Welsh speakers by 2050! 🏴
- In six months as MP for Newport West and Islwyn, I’ve already seen the impact of floods on communities like Crosskeys and Crumlin. I’m calling on four authorities to attend a joint meeting with myself and local councillors to lay out exactly what is being done to prevent, mitigate and protect.
