- We keep framing AI like a person, but that changes how we trust it, fear it, and hand power over to it. Watch now on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=47CI...
- Corporations invaded the net, took it over and turned it into an accelerationist nightmare. But they are ignoring the real world in the process. They believe they are leaving it behind for something abstract and better. Let them take the net as long as we can take back the real world.
- The demand for AI's unbridled growth is reactionary — a way of doubling down on the same old colonizing way of doing things. It doesn't have to be. rushkoff.substack.com/p/is-ai-the-...
- Our job as Team Human is not to succumb to the zero-sum mentality of the wealthy. They’re the ones who have given up on prosperity. They are living the nightmare. rushkoff.substack.com/p/the-intent...

- @andrewslack.bsky.social, comedian and writer of Orphans, Empires, and the Search for a Better World, discusses the hidden history of corporate power, the mythic roots of American identity, and how hope - and solar panels - might just save us all. 📺 Watch now: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsF2...
- A tech bro on acid is just a tech bro on acid.
- In his Prison Notebooks, written under the repression of Italian Fascist regime, Antonio Gramsci said politics is downstream of culture But while politics may be downstream of culture, culture is downstream of rapport. If you don’t have rapport, then culture ends up being about difference.
- Is sharing too much of a threat to the global economy, or too small to make a difference? Both critiques are trapped in the mindset of scale. As if everything has to or is going to happen all at once. It doesn’t. 📺 Watch, stream, and subscribe Team Human now: www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDGF...
- I'm doing a one-evening event in London on my way back from a thing. July 1. Come if you can! dandelion.events/e/x7o1n

- I run a Media Studies MA program at CUNY/Queens, and the number of international applications has dropped precipitously. I assume it's fear of being here on a student visa, but wondering if anyone else at a grad program and is noticing the same, and how bad? We're at 10-20% of normal.

- A public school district is considering whether to ban my book on tech billionaires, Survival of the Richest, for violating Trump's order on ridding DEI from schools. (I do not argue for giving tech bros equity/inclusion, so I'm not sure what the fuss would be about...) patch.com/illinois/lag...
- My great friend Mandy Keifetz's astoundingly well-written novel, Flea Circus, is now available in a new ebook edition: www.unnamedpress.com/all-books/p/...
- Can America inform itself through journalism? I asked @jonathanlarsen.bsky.social, Founder of The Fucking News, to discuss the question Walter Lippmann and John Dewey debated a century ago on a new episode of Team Human. Watch now: www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8M4...
- "I don't believe that the apocalypse is around the corner. I believe that even if everything is hell, even if everything is shit, that we keep living and we keep finding joy and beauty in it." @mollycrabapple.bsky.social on a new episode of Team Human. Listen now: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojJk...

- Hey Berlin! I'm doing a reading next month My book Survival of the Richest hit #10 on German Amazon last night. First time I've seen a number like that in a long time. (Maybe people are coming to see that those tech billionaires may be out for themselves...) bit.ly/4hySoA0
- SXSW event announced! "Weirding the Digital: An Invocation." Part speech, part sigil, I'm going to try to help us set a new course. schedule.sxsw.com/2025/events/...

- I'd be happy with Facebook eliminating content moderation if it *also* eliminated its algorithmic content delivery. If it stopped selecting and editing content in the manner of a publication, then it would not have to follow journalistic guidelines. But FB is no less a publication than the NYT.
- "Facebook will also be moving its trust and safety and content moderation team from California to Texas."
- Yeah. I'm the last guest on Chris's special show about disinformation, journalism, and public opinion. Very validating way to end the year.
