"Dave" at work. Gillingham lad, lives Madrid/Mallorca, works London. Posts mostly whimsy and delight in the small things. Interested in everything. Love is all you need. Love and money for rent. And music. The three things...
- Saw this earlier today. Instantly dragged me back to a 70s childhood. I disappeared into an Ecosia rabbit hole. Several hours later I am now sharing my love of William John Clappison with friends on WhatsApp. The internet is very cool.
- After six and a half minutes of calm, factual demolition: "...and then it gets really ugly..." Not one of his funny rants. But this one might just be worth hanging in the Louvre.
- The only Marvel I'm interested in for the next phase is Yelena, Kate Bishop and Awkwafina bickering for three hours in the back of a bus while Shang Chi breaks heads in the aisle.
- There's a man works down the chip-shop swears he's Elvis - Kirstie M.
- Chomsky's quite the disappointment. If any of Naomi Klein, AOC or David Attenborough start turning up I'm officially resigning from the human race...
- Remember when that bloke who wasn't a CEO with a trillion dollar bonus resigned for being photographed hugging someone who wasn't his wife at a Coldplay gig?
- Still astonishing that the only three people to have paid any price for their associations with Epstein are British. And only one of those three was through US media/judicial processes. What is WRONG with y'all over there?!?
- As a 70s child I'm used to famous peoples' unpleasantness being exposed . Whether expected (Savile, Archer...), neutral (Rolf, DLT...), or sometimes hugely disappointing (Stuart Hall, Chris Langham...). I'd had much (MUCH) higher expectations for Mandelson's downfall than 75k for abuse of power tbh
- Interesting. I honestly think the post-Barber FT is the only paper worth reading - precisely because it *doesn't* just pander to her 'elites' (read: 'super-wealthy') but actually invites *everyone* to challenge their own assumptions - without seeking to condescend or convert.
- I read with some interest Izabella Kaminska's article for the Telegraph, "I was an eyewitness as the FT went woke and I couldn’t bear it". Yes, I have thoughts. Well one big thought really. /1 uk.news.yahoo.com/eyewitness-f...
