- I continue to wonder when it was that Europe's liberal descendants forgave themselves for their pasts such that the new actions must of course be egregious. If you forgave yourself before, you'll forgive yourself again. If before was unforgivable but acceptable, you'll accept your actions again.
- And I get the carceral state of America is not a new issue, but I think when they’ve set aside an enormous amount of money to build concentration camps that seem to be worse than the worst prisons, I’m not sure “we’ve always been this way” is the most helpful way to motivate righteous outrage.
