- This is typical of the alt-right's streak of trolling, often referred to as “based” culture, and Trump plays this game too. They spread racist, misogynistic, and fascist ideas, then hide when confronted. They claim “free speech” or say “it’s just a joke” to dodge accountability.
- They can't have it both ways. If they want to exercise their "freedom" then we are also free to dismiss them and downgrade their credibility; if they hide behind "jokes", then we are also free to downgrade their credibility due to their shallowness, mortal unseriousness and intellectual laziness.
- Hopefully she will be a supporter of basic science research and tri-council funding (especially that the University of Toronto is in her ridding!) Martin is the current chair of family medicine at UofT.
- Cool work, but comments like "protein centric view of the central dogma" have to stop. 1) That's not what the central dogma was about & 2) Jacob/Monod/Lwoff were awarded the Nobel in 1965 for demonstrating that genes are regulated by non-coding regions.
