I was told to smile more when I was a bank teller in the mid 1970s. I smile in my heart and you have to work to get the smile to appear on my face. My smiles are earned. If I were a man they would call me stoic. Being a woman I'm often called a bitch.
I've no doubt. I have been friends with many female bartenders, so I guess that's why it popped into my mind.
