When you combine today's announcement with the June and December travel bans, the Trump administration has now banned or indefinitely suspended immigrant visas* for 90 different countries, including 70% of African countries.
*visas that provide a green card and a path to eventual citizenship
Deleted these two posts because we now have confirmation from the State Department that this suspension is limited ONLY to immigrant visas — visas which let someone enter the United States with permanent residence status and on a path to a green card. There is NOT a suspension on nonimmigrant visas.
