what is the general etiquette for making fanart for fic? preferably i'd wanna ask the author before drawing/posting the art but what do u do when u cant locate the writer on social media...... do writers typically mind if u draw without express permission...? or ...

I mean if it helps my perspective as an author I’d love it even without asking! In fact I’m now IRL friends with someone who drew art for game theory haha
