- We've known this for a while. We've known that taking action now would not only help us avoid the worst of the climate crisis, it would also save us money. Those who deny the emergency used uncertainty to delay taking action, and now worse-than-expected extreme events are costing us all dearly.

- I'm more concerned about the victims in the neverending Epstein nightmare but I have to say I feel sorry for Beatrice and Eugenie.
- Reposted by Red and green-ishWhen I say "feminism is the radical notion that women are people" most people laugh, because they utterly fail to understand just how radical a notion that is.

The result is that women experience real, anatomy-driven discomfort without being told why, and may internalise it as a personal failing." theconversation.com/routine-medi...

- That's enough of the world for today. Off to spend the day with good book. "But Beatriz Kira, associate professor of law at the University of Sussex, says it is difficult for legislation to keep up with every "innovative and creative use of technology to harm women"." www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
- Sad to see this. I love Deborah's writing and learned so much from her insights. Rest well.
- I don't ever want to hear anyone say that women can't make good leaders.

- Anyone else affected by eye issues during the perimenopause? Today is not a day to read for me.
- The level of anger at women's boundaries and basic rights still shocks me, even as it doesn't surprise me. I struggle to reconcile it all and I don't think I'll ever reach a point when I will.

- I remember the day someone stopped talking to me because I challenged him when he said there was no difference between Trump and Hillary Clinton.
- Grok shows clearly that X isn't a pro-woman platform. Governments need to stop endorsing Musk.
- I wonder what's behind it all 🧐

- I don't get why people are still on X. Other platforms have their issues but don't produce their own sexualised images, including of children, on the basis of users' prompts. I don't get how anyone can justify remaining on that rotten platform.

- I see a lot of posturing about what the UK government should say and do. I'm just glad I'm not in their position. The UK was left considerably weakened following Brexit, and our close ties to the US mean we could end up much weaker if not careful. Very easy shouting from the sidelines.

- Some nasty bugs out there by the sound of it - I know people who've been hospitalised and been unwell for days, but they aren't getting diagnosed with anything specific, just viral infections. I think I'm going to avoid busy places.

As the weeks dragged on they became ever more worried, so to distract himself my dad began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up at some of art & music's most important moments. I've collected his work here...
