- Hyperbolic headlines often tell us that Gen Z (& Gen Alpha) are fundamentally different learners & cultural participants. This study set out to examine whether those claims align with what educators are actually experiencing, and to better understand how NYC museums are engaging the next generation.
- The multi-pronged study explores teen–museum dynamics in NYC through: a review of the literature on best practices in teen engagement, a survey of 10 NYC visual arts institutions, observation of multiple teen programs, and an interview with Caroline Quigley (then head of Teen Art Week NYC).Jan 22, 2026 22:06
